Article Management Systems

Currently, there are a few Article/Content Management Systems available in the marketplace. Some are good, some are awful.

One system currently available can be found at: http://ArticleDashboard.com . It is good, but far from perfect. This is an article directory software that is meant as a stand-alone website package. It may be a for-purchase software later the software progresses to their desired level. (We have two websites running under this package, just for the purpose of familarizing ourselves with the software: http://Articles4Reprint.com and http://InvisibleMBA.com )

Other systems are available now as stand-alone Article Directory websites. Many of them have a price attached to them.

We have two separate packages under development and both are expected out soon. Of the two we are developing, one is for a stand-alone article directory website, the other is for a plug-and-play system that can be plugged into any existing website.

A Strange Day on the Web Homefront

When I prepared to do my work right past lunch today, I noted that my email was not working. So, I hit my site and it was not working either. I submitted a work request to my web host and they were back in a few minutes telling me that they had rebooted and everything seemed good. They asked me to check my domain --- still no dice.

I told my web host and they said that the server went down as soon as it rebooted. Three of their 18 servers seems to be offline, although mine went down a couple of hours in front of the others.

Okay, it is irritating, but I managed to keep my resolve for a productive day for another few hours. I have been offline now for more than eight hours.

Now, ordinarily, I probably would not take much note of it. These things happen and my web host has their best people on task. But, I began to research an article I am working on and began to notice another anomoly.

Several of the sites that I wanted to use for reference are offline as well. We are not talking about small sites here, we are talking about some substantial sites:

http://www.sitepronews.com/
http://www.allbusinessnews.com/
http://www.freewebsubmission.com/
http://www.your-membership.com/
http://thephantomwriters.com/
http://www.ezinehub.com/
http://www.exactseek.com/
http://www.goarticles.com/

Although my webhost has not said for sure, I wonder if it is a DOS (Denial-of-Service) attack. The one thing all of these sites have in common is that they all are either ezine publishers or providers of reprint articles.

It is a strange day indeed.
